Join us for Crestview's Summer School! All students from the community are able to participate in one class per session. Classes are a total of ten days, Monday through Friday, and courses at Crestview Preparatory School this summer are FREE. Typically, classes are on campus each day. However, this year classes will be held in an online setting, with teachers closely monitoring students' progress, hosting virtual meetings and communicating regularly with participants. Students will be provided with flexibility in completing their classwork each day, but the online setting requires that participants be diligent in working on their lessons regularly during the session. Please contact the Crestview front office at 602-765-9555 for more information about Summer School.
This summer students at Crestview High School will be able to select from two types of class offerings:
LEARNING TOGETHER courses require students to attend a virtual class meeting (video chat via Google) M-F, where they can interact with a qualified teacher and collaborate with classmates. Students complete classwork, assignments, and assessments in Google Classroom. Students will be required to attend instruction sessions daily from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM and again from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM. You cannot miss any sessions. Do not sign up for classes if you know you have a prior appointment. Each course is worth 0.5 credit.
INDEPENDENT LEARNING (PLP/computer-based education) courses are self-paced online classes which utilize the Schools Personalized Learning Platform (PLP). Students participate in pre-assessments, lessons, practices, and assessments to demonstrate mastery of the AZCCR standards for a given course. While the course is self-paced, students will have daily access, Monday - Friday, to an assigned PLP instructor. Students will also be responsible for submitting electronically all notes. The grade and credit cannot be issued until student notes are submitted. Each course is worth 0.5 credit.
CHROMEBOOK RENTALS are available for students who do not have regular access to a device. All 2019-2020 Crestview students who borrowed a device during Block 4 may keep their device until the conclusion of their summer school session(s). Non-Crestview students may rent a device from Crestview for a fully-refundable $50 deposit.
It is recommended that non-Crestview students email in an unofficial transcript so that we can recommend a class. You can send your transcript to Bierling@CrestviewPreparatory.com
